Meet Anik Whyte…

Anik is a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience supporting Individuals, couples,  families, youth and children. She is rooted in a strength-based approach, helping to empower people of all ages to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.   

Anik has a variety of educational backgrounds to help bring different tools and approaches to the table that fit you. She earned a BA in Psychology and has also studied 3 years of Indigenous Social Work.  Along with this, Anik has been trained and worked within the areas of conflict, trauma, loss, family dynamics such as separation and loss and crisis. This includes training in CBT, non violent crisis intervention, anti-oppressive practices and couples therapy interventions.

Anik has worked in the field of child welfare, adoption, foster care, shelter systems, youth services with experience related to mental health, oppression, conflict. Focusing on private practices for the last two years, Anik also continues to teach these skills, relevant theories and tools at Algonquin College.
